Cars = Problems

June 12th, 2006

So today I was up in Berlin with Keenan for a bit. He went to visit a friends, so I took his car for a drive. It was fun because it’s a standard and those are always fun. So I’m driving around for like 15 minutes, and as I’m driving down a side road, BOOM, it sounds like a big rock hit the underside of the car. I was uh-oh. I knew I didn’t do anything wrong, so I was like damn…wrong place, wrong time? But I turned it off, turned it back on, and drove back to get Keenan. On the way home, he heard the car making a pulsing noise. I didn’t exactly know what he was talking about, it sounded normal to me, because my car makes a similar sound.

So later on in the day he tells me that he decided to take it to a shop to get it looked at, and on the way, smoke started pouring out of it, and they couldn’t get it into either first or second gear. So basically I feel bad because it seems like it was my fault, even though I didn’t really do anything.

So even later on, we’re at Mr. Pizza and Keenan decides to drive my car. The damn car wouldn’t get out of first gear. Somethings wrong with this picture. His car breaks when I’m driving it, my car breaks when he’s driving it. It just doesn’t make sense. I have to get that look at, as well as inspected and registered by the end of the month. This sucks.

So basically, I don’t know how I’m getting to work tomorrow, and when/if my car makes it to the shop, I won’t be able to afford anything that has to happen to the car, as I’m also told that I may need a brake job. Stupid brakes, who needs those?

Well anyway, I’m off to bed, don’t forget to check out my eBay auction before it ends at like 10AM tomorrow morning!

Mac Mini on eBay…

June 12th, 2006

I felt like letting people know that the Mac Mini is now on eBay. I offered it around, and it didn’t seem like anyone had interest in a desktop Mac. There is only like 16 hours left, but it is past the reserve price, so anything goes from here on out.

If you are interested in it, and you are in the area, I would be willing to arrange for pickup/dropoff if you win the auction, please just let me know ASAP after the bidding is done. Thanks for looking!

June 10th, 2006

So about a month ago, Keenan asked me if I was going to be able to go to his graduation and the chem-free. I asked for it off from work, but was unable to get the time off. So Keenan after about 2 weeks of not believing me, realized I couldn’t go, so he was pretty much mad at me. (I’m Sorry!)
About a week ago, Keenan says “Chem-free starts at 10.” I’m thinking…’Why couldn’t I go?’…turns out I worked from 5-9 on Friday night and I had to be back in for a 9-5 on Saturday. He then said that we’d get back around 5AM. I told him I’d go and just be really tired at work. So it all turned out to be OK, except I didn’t get to go to graduation…and…Class Day…nobody told me about it. gosh. I could have gone to that! But anyways…

About the night: So after work I rush to get Kelley at her dads house, then head to my house to change. I couldn’t wear what I was, as the later activities prohibited the clothes I had on. Then we went to Dunkins’ to pick up a bit of coffee before so we could stay up for another 8 hours. We saw Britta, Kam, their Daddy, and Jason, so Kelley talked to them and I got the coffee. I had a good laugh with Paula in Dunkins’ about a girl that went down a waterslide nude the year that she was a chaperon at chem-free. I thought that was funny. So after that crazy fun stuff in Dunkins’ I walked outside and immediately got assaulted by Kam. That was unpleasant!

SOOO…we go to the Hatchery, pick up Cag, Keenan, and Adam and go to the school. There was good food…chicken parmesian, stuffed shells, sausage and onions (which I didn’t eat), and salad. Kelley wasn’t hungry but she grabbed a plate anyways and Keenan and I were supposed to share it, but neither of us touched it. Oh well. I got bubbles blown in my eyes, shook some hands, said congratulations a billion times, and only the people with bags could get on the bus. That was annoying. Again, oh well. So the ride there, Kelley was like…falling asleep…and Nicole took something I said wrong. I felt bad. So we get to the Big Adventure Center and everyone plays lazer tag. Yay. That was fun. I guess I shot Kelley 3 times. hehe. oops! She was red, I was blue, what can I say…there was also green people. So…I got 10th, and Kelley threw away my score card. Oh well.

We then went climbing a few times in the climbing wall. That was exciting. Then some arcade games. Then everyone left for the movie. Then I went and bowled, and played pool with Mandy (Keenan and Cag’s older sister – chaperone). I then went back and Kelley and I did some climbing. Just after that was done, we chilled out in the climbing wall area until we were instructed to get back on the buses. Kelley and I got on the quiet bus, but it wasn’t quiet for long. We drove to the movie theatre where the Omen was playing. I debated going to see it, but was relieved to hear that it sucked and that I decided not to go see it. Hahaha. Sweet deal!
Pretty much, that was Chem-Free for the graduated Class of ’06. The bus ride home was cool except for screaming people, and people screaming at the screaming people to stop screaming (…ineffective? maybe.)

College Bound

June 3rd, 2006
So I finally stepped into the real game of being college-bound. This past year, I attended the Technical College in Berlin. I decided they didn’t have enough courses for what I wanted, so I looked around. I found what I was looking for. Champlain College in Burlington, VT has a superb Networking Program.
I applied late because I wanted to have the two semester grades for Champlain from the Tech. Today, June 3rd, I got a big package in the mail with an acceptance letter inside. Jeesh…the one and only college I apply to takes me. So basically…I was pretty happy this morning when it came in. (And the fact that more of my clothes came in) Then I started looking at the financial part of it, and realized that it’s not that bad monetarily-wise…however, college is college. It still costs your lower right torso for books, and your grandmother for a semester of schooling.
So I guess like…7 people know now. And they’re all happy. Keenan is supposedly going to be like 10 minutes from me. But I don’t know about that…highly doubt it. But if he is…I’m staying in a suite off-campus, which is shared by Champlain and UVM students. That’ll be awesome! I just hope there’s no “rivalry because it’s really immature and I hate unnecessary stupidity because of things like that. Like the whole Berlin-Gorham rivalry…that was a joke…
But I don’t think I’ll know anyone there, so that will blow in a sense. Except the people that I met on the tour I took there. I think I’ll be coming home every weekend for a long time though…and I don’t want to worry about that right now. Just happy I got in!

When it’s all over, it’s not who you were. It’s whether you made a difference.

April 17th, 2006

So the postponed layout upgrade has once again been set back some more. This time it’s for a completely reasonable cause, which would be that my great grand-mother past away this Easter Sunday. Being with family is important right now, and with the wake and funeral, I’m not going to have much time in the next week to work on the website…I gotta do what I gotta do though!

Some things that have been cool recently: Kelley!!!, trips to Conway with Kelley and Ash & James,, and of course Family Guy…lol.

Some things that have not been cool recently: Death, Scary Movie 4, and garlic.

Hope everyone is doing good
Thanks for reading!

I can’t believe it…a Free Apple iBook!

April 13th, 2006

Wow. Everything is going so great right now, it’s almost unbelievable…Life is just great.

First off, the website layout upgrade has been turning out better, faster, and easier than I ever thought would have been possible. I can’t wait for the entire thing to be up, I just need a little bit more time. It should take too much longer, I’d say a week or two, but because of the event that I explain below…it has slowed the upgrade process.

{nerdy stuff}
I’ve taken the entire page code(layout/design) and writing the code to script it completely dynamically (where the PHP comes in – you might have noticed mostly all pages you will encounter will be end in a .php extension). This makes it incredibly easy to add content to the pages and change a LOT of the menus, layouts, etc. quickly, chronologically, and in a really organized fashion.

Also, speaking about organization, I’m coming up with a scheme to organize the entire layout as a whole even better. Not quite sure exactly how yet, but I only thought of this last night, so I’ll figure it out. I got the hierarchy chart done last night, it’s simple, but works fine for me.
{end nerdy stuff}

A lot of what I have to do is to get the images proper size to fit the current layout, which brings me to my next topic of conversation.
Second, a lot of you may know that I got a free Mac Mini last December. That was wonderful, at a value of $599, I was quite happy. Then I found another offer for an Apple iBook. I thought it was a little outrageous, but I figured if I got the Mac Mini, I guess this could be legitimate. Boy was I right.

I waited two months for everything to be verified and confirmed, then called them yesterday morning, but they were closed, so I waited until I was at work to call. The nice lady I spoke with stated she said I could expect it around the 21st. So I continued my day at work, came home, and was talking on the phone with Kelley when my dad asked what I got in a big box. I’m like “What the heck?!” I went out, and there’s a box with a brand new $999 Apple iBook in it.

My New Apple iBook All my free stuff
Here’s the new iBook Here’s all the free suff

I’m sure I’ll be writing again very soon!!!

The new look…

April 4th, 2006

Hey everyone!

I’m writing today to inform you all that I’ve been very busy working on the site recently. There has been a complete transformation of the layout of the site, and I believe that you will probably like it. (A lot of people didn’t like the side menu…which I can understand.) The site has gone from the old look of:

Old Layout
New Layout
I do like the look a LOT better than before. It has only been possible with the help of Dan Leveille. He’s very talented in all of his “web design, digital art, and photography” as well as thorough knowledge of programming. Much thanks is sent to Dan in his effort to make this website look better than it has in the past.
In addition to getting me a basic template for
the site design, he has done a very good job of teaching me the PHP coding language, as well as encouraging me to get into the habits of using CSS once again (which I had given up in the past.) Unfortunately still not appreciating CSS too much, I’ve found that learning PHP has been a rewarding experience for me. It is a really useful language, and I am positive that I will be using it in the future.
I haven’t finalized the layout, but I will be updating it frequently, so check back often for most recent content!
Thanks for reading!!!

Worst Week Of My Life…

March 22nd, 2006

So the past 4 days of my life have been very memorable. Not because they are good, but because they were the most physically painful days of my life. You may think I’m exaggerating this story, but I’ll tell you all about my wisdom teeth removal…
Monday, March 13th

7:00AM – Wake-up time. Take a shower, and get ready to go. My mom asks me if I’m nervous. Really not, I tell her I’m not. She laughs. I don’t know why.
10:20AM – Go in the surgeon’s room in Concord, NH. They immediately put straps around my knees to prevent me from “falling out of the seat”. The anesthesiologist puts a mask over my nose and tells me to breath through my nose…not feeling a whole lot, I breathe heavy and start to feel it a little. Dr. Levy then decides to “administor the drip” and pokes me in the arm. After a while of him trying to find my vain I said, “When you’re done poking around there, try getting the vain on the inside of my arm.” He laughs, but keeps digging. After finally getting the right vain, the anesthesiologist asks me if I’m feeling anything. I told her I was a little. She says, “You ready?”…I’m thinking…uhhhh…sure? I said “Ya”, at which point she turns it up, it gets louder and tells me to take one deep breath. I tell ya, she was serious. I inhaled, and wasn’t awake long enough to remember exhaling. Serious shit right there.
From 10:20AM to 1:20PM – I have no fucking idea what happened…I was told that I started humming and telling the doctors that I loved them. (Which they appreciated because the patients usually tell them to go fuck themselves or that they are going to kill them…so I was nice about it at least…) I remember (?”dreaming”?) that felt like I was in my mouth on water-slides…ya. I told you that was serious shit…
1:30PM – Upon waking up, I realize these damn doctors are still drilling and chiseling at my bottom left tooth. I think ASSHOLES!, but I didn’t care I couldn’t feel the pain. Wonders of novacaine. They then let me sober up, tell me they aren’t sure why I swelled so bad, and one of the ladies that was in the surgeon’s room walks me out to the car.
1:35PM to 10:00PM – I WANT TO KILL MYSELF. I seriously just…wanted to die. My lower lip is the size of banana, not jokingly, it was hanging below my chin. My cheeks are both the size of softballs, and honestly if you think a migraine is bad…just be lucky your wisdom teeth only (possibly) have to come out once…I only had one strive to stay alive (and I’ve already told her.)

Tuseday, March 14th

This day pretty much sucked, but was much better than Monday. The whole day was spent icing 20 minutes on the left, 20 minutes on the right side of my face. Lovelyyyy…

Wednesday, March 15th

This day was better than the previous days. Not only the pain was better, but I actually had social interaction. I was soooooo happy when my sister brought me to Kelley’s house to pick Kelley up. We then went down to my house, and her and my mom watched the new Harry Potter while I was in and out of sleeping. Kelley took good care of me…giving me pills, getting me more to drink, etc. That was very nice. Times like now shows that she is an incredible girlfriend to me…and despite laughing at me I still love her, a lot! And that was the best part about the previous few days of my life. Then Kelley had to go to Drivers Ed. I think I slept a lot.

Thursday, March 16th

I pretty much spent this day in laze, I didn’t do too much except sleep, watch the lamest movie ever…”Waiting”…STUPID, do yourself a favor and don’t watch it. I also got to go on the computer, which was lovely. Oh ya…I tried to get our fuckin Verizon DSL working (I can’t believe my dad bought Verizon DSL…but that could be a whole other blog.) Verizon Support Technicians are ASSHOLES by the way. I hope I never have to work for them and their shitty ass company. (Also hoping that by typing this I’m not jeapordizing any opportunities I might have gotten in the future…)

Friday, March 17th – Today (My Birthday)

How do you think I’m doing? Oh lovely. It’s my birthday. YAY! I’m 19…ya, I get to celebrate by being at work from 9-5. Happy Birthday to me, happy bir……….. Ya.

So to sum it up…my Spring Vacation Week…SUCKED! lol. But I hope this doesn’t scare anyone from getting their wisdom teeth removed because…as Dr. Levy says, “It should have taken less than an hour and a half, and it took 3 hours.” … then he says, “we’re not sure why you’re so swelled, but this Prednisone should take care of that for you.”
Oh ya, before I forget…here’s the list of pills I’ve been taking:

  • Percocet – Every 4 hours
  • 800mG Ibuprofin – Every 6 hours
  • 500mG Amoxicillin – Every 6 hours
  • Prednisone

Ya, lots of pills. I take it normal people don’t get the pain that I had, but it does hurt. Nobody I’ve talked to have had these same experiences, so this shouldn’t scare you all.
That’s it for now! I best get back to work before I get fired though, so hopefully see you all around soon! Hope college kids had a better week off (some 2 weeks off) than I did! And don’t take brushing your teeth daily for granted. lol. I guess I did. Blood doesn’t taste good…especially after a few days of lingering in your mouth. I finally got to brush my teeth with some antibacterial mouthwash…heck yes!
Now leave me some nice comments! Thanks for reading!

OMG…I got a FREE Mac Mini!

December 20th, 2005

I wanted to let everyone know something incredibly cool. I guess if you hate Apple and the Macintosh operating system, you can ignore this blog. For the rest of people that want a free computer…read on.
So Dan Leveille inspired me to sign up for to get a free iPod because he got one himself. After researching these types of companies, I found this company, www.ConsumerIncentivePromotions.Com that gives Mac Mini’s after a certain number of completed offers (rather than referring friends). You only have to sign up for 2 offers per page (with a total of 3 pages). If you visit their website and it doesn’t work, just Bookmark it, and try again because it’s been doing that recently. No big deal!

I thought what the hell…I’ll try it out. I finished the 2 offers required for the first page, and waited until they were confirmed. I then tried the second page, and again waited for the offers to be confirmed. After the first 4, I was like OK, this is cool, I’ll do the third page. I completed the first of 2 offers, and it got confirmed, so I completed the final (6 of 6) offers (which was to sign up for Earthlink Dialup – $9.95). I did that, it completed and I cancelled all of the offers I signed up for.

I filled in their shipping information, sent it in, and 2 weeks later I got a tracking number for the package. 2 DAYS later I got home, and had a box on my bed. In the box was another box…direct from Apple. In that box was my BRAND NEW 1.33Ghz PowerPC, 512MB of RAM, 40Gig HD Mac Mini with a retail value of $649.99. I was so happy. I had to take a picture before I even opened the Mini! Here’s the pic:

Me and the Mini

I’d encourage you to try the same…but as for me…I’m happy I did! And no, as of yet, it’s not for sale.
