Out here in Burlington

So I’m going into my third week here at Champlain. It’s pretty good out here in Burlington, VT. The city is a nice place. Church Street is basically where everything is that you’d be interested in. The street itself is untravelled by vehicles, as it’s chained off. There are lots of shops, restaurants, and a really nice mall that reminds me of the underground mall in Montreal. I have no pictures right now, but I think I’m going to take some by the end of the week.

The housing that I got is off-campus, called Spinner Place. It’s more of a pain to live here, but there are perks as well. I lucked out in the room assignment because I got the handicapped room, so it is about twice the size of the other rooms in the apartment. I do have pictures of those here. The three other guys in the apartment are cool. On the day everyone was coming, I was here first, then Justin, then Tom, then JJ.
We have a full kitchen (stove/oven, microwave, fridge, sink, dishwasher) so it is nice to be able to make food that we actually want and like. I have been to the Dining Hall at Champlain and it has surprisingly good food. I could see that it would start to get old though because they have some of the same foods every single day for every meal (yes, pizza, for breakfast).

So far we’ve stuck with typical college food except for when Tom and I made AMAZING “Four Cheese Cayenne Chicken Pasta” or pancakes and french toast. Once we get more food, we’ll make more cool stuff, so if you’re interested in DONATING food to these four poor college boys looking to make a decent meal, let me know!
Anyway, getting back to Spinner…there is a nice view looking out at the river and mill (nothing like Berlin’s mill) from the windows of Spinner. It’s really nice to have my own room if I want to conceal myself or do homework in peace without being bothered.

To sum it up, college is awesome, but it would be so much better if there wasn’t homework or classes!!! Send me an email or call me or something! It’s nice to hear from people. I hope everyone is enjoying their time in school (HS or College). Thanks for reading.
